STUDIES OF NATURE - ERNST HAECKEL

Year 8 - To get the Year 8’s started on their Organic Architecture project they began by studying the incredible drawings of Ernst Haeckel. Students were encouraged to showcase the intricate and unusual details of these drawings through experimentation with layout across their page. Zooming in and enlarging details, repeating certain motifs, isolating parts of a drawing and layering their design. This outcome was also required to show skill in 3 areas:

using pencils to create value, water colour techniques - detail and adding washes / grounds and high quailty colour pencil application.
