ORGANIC FORMS
Year 10
1st Group - A selection of my Year 10s work on value - studies of nature using blue and black biro pens. They were encouraged to be bold with their contrast and to explore a range of mark making techniques in order to capture the textures of their chosen organic form.
2nd Group - Some beautiful pencil studies of natural forms, again showing excellent application of value as well as an interesting variety of compositions. Students were taught on the subject of composition and learned how to create interest with cropping, zooming in, off center positioning and using uniquely shaped paper for their artwork.
3rd Group - Acrylic studies, students were taught how to use mix colour and blend their paint. They also applied their knowledge on composition to help create a dynamic and lively outcome. Students were also taught about adding a ground to their artwork to prepare the paper (or canvas) for painting, a ground can also help to add a mood or colour balance to their artwork or even just help to remove the ‘white page syndrome’ by getting students working before worrying about the task ahead!
